Who is Jesus?

What claims did He make?

He claimed to be God

The Jews answered him, we have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God. John 19:7

Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. John 5:18

He claimed to have shared the glory of God in heaven

And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. John 17:5

He claimed to be sinless

Which of you convicts Me of sin? John 8:46

The Father has not left me alone, for I always do those things that please Him. John 8:29

He claimed to be the only way to God

I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

He claimed to be able to forgive sins

When He saw their faith, He said to him, Man, your sins are forgiven you. And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone? Luke 5:20-21

Then He said to her, Your sins are forgiven. And those that sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, who is this who even forgives sins? Luke 7:48-49

He claimed to be able to give everlasting life

And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:40

Most assuredly, I say to you, He who believes in me has everlasting life. John 6:47

And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. John 10:28-30

Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live. John 11:25

He claimed He would return to judge the world

For as the lightning comes from the east, and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Matthew 24:27

Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Matthew 24:30

When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. Matthew 25:31-32

Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? Jesus said, I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven. Mark 14:61-62
